CHAdeMO is an older DC fast charging standard originating from Japan. While fewer stations exist compared to CCS2, it remains important for owners of compatible vehicles.
What is CHAdeMO?
CHAdeMO (CHArge de MOve) is a DC fast charging standard developed in Japan. It uses a large, round connector separate from the AC port, unlike CCS2 which combines both into one port.
In Singapore, CHAdeMO availability is limited and declining as CCS2 becomes the global standard. Most new charging installations no longer include CHAdeMO, and existing stations may be gradually retrofitted.

- 50 kW: Standard CHAdeMO speed — adds ~120 km range in 30 minutes
- 100 kW: High-power CHAdeMO — adds ~240 km range in 30 minutes (rare in Singapore)
